Who can benefit from using One Minute Reader?
Any developing reader who is not yet able to read fluently at a fifth-grade level can benefit from using this fun, motivating, and effective reading program.
Do I need to be present while my reader is working?
One Minute Reader is designed to be completely independent. Depending on age and other factors, some readers may need guidance in the beginning. Over time, readers should become fully independent.
How does my reader log in?
When you set up the subscription, you will receive an email with your Account Owner User ID. You can use this ID to log in as the account owner at
oneminutereader.com/login. Once you're logged in, set up an account for your reader under the My Readers menu. Create a User ID and password for your reader. Then, your reader can log in with these credentials from the same login page

What level should my reader select?
The placement process will help determine an appropriate level. When the reader is logged in, select the placement icon in the top right corner of the screen. Follow the prompts and the system will suggest a level.
What do I do if my reader’s scores are not improving?
Reading content that is much too easy or too difficult will slow down progress. Try the placement process to determine the best fit and use story options to narrow the levels your reader can choose from. Learning to read is not an overnight process. Repetition and consistent practice with appropriate material are the best ways to speed growth.
How do I know when my reader is ready for higher-level books?
If the reader makes few mistakes and can read the story well on the cold timing, the level might be too easy. Answering all the questions correctly on the first attempt and finishing the entire story quickly are also indications that the reader is ready for a more challenging level.
Can I customize the program for my reader?
Yes, a limited set of story options are available. You can set which levels your reader can access and change the number of Read Alongs and Read Alones that are required. These settings are available for each reader under the My Readers menu in the management system. Log in as the account owner using your email address and password, click the My Readers button, and click the double arrows to the far right of your reader to customize their settings.
How can I help my reader be successful?
Make it fun! Ask them what they learned. Have them read to you. Help them find more information about the topics in the stories. Even post their hot timing scores on the refrigerator. A quiet environment with few distractions is helpful. And remind readers that it’s not all about speed. Accuracy, expression, vocabulary, and comprehension should be stressed along with rate.
Can I access the program from my smart phone?
While you can technically access One Minute Reader from your smart phone, the user experience is not optimal on such a small screen. We recommend using an iPad or a computer with a resolution of 1024 by 768 and higher.
What should my reader do if they forgot their password?
Log into One Minute Reader as the account owner using your email address and password. Click on the My Readers button. Click the double arrows to the far right of the reader to bring up the reader’s profile. Enter a new password for the reader in the New Password and Verify New Password fields. Click the Save and Close button.
What is the difference between deactivating and deleting a reader?
Deactivating a reader disables their account. You will not be billed for this reader and they will not be able to log into One Minute Reader. Their account information will be saved and can be reactivated later. Deleting a reader immediately removes their access to One Minute Reader. Their story progress and account details are deleted. This action cannot be undone. You can deactivate or delete readers if you log in as the account owner, click the My Readers button, and click the double arrows to the far right of the reader to bring up their profile.
How much does One Minute Reader cost?
The monthly subscription fee is $8.00 per month per reader. The account renews automatically until cancelled. You can manage the subscription and the number of readers enrolled through the account management system.
Do I need to enter a credit card to do the free trial?
Yes, you will need to enter a credit card to activate the 7-day trial period. We will only charge your credit card after the trial period has ended. Automatic billing will start when the trial period expires. Cancel anytime through the account management system.
